United Chelmsford Churches Res. upset the form book

A double by Nick Butler saw Division Four side United Chelmsford Churches Res. secure the Patron's Plate on a warm sunny afternoon at White Notley F.C.

Conditions were perfect and as always a great playing surface welcomed both sides

Both teams nullified each other for the first 20 minutes then a UCC long throw from the right sees Harold Wood's skipper Chris Bearman's attempted header go backwards across his own goal where Butler back to goal managed to tuck the ball past the helpless Harold Wood keeper.

On 25 minutes a Harold Wood created their first real chance from a free kick which dipped just over the bar with the keeper struggling to reach it.

On 35 minutes a wild shot from UCC's Billy Wander sails over the bar

Just before the half time break a UCC corner from the right sees shot from UCC's skipper Simon Warren cleared off the line with the keeper well beaten.

65 minutes a long throw from Harold Wood on the right flicked on by Manager Chris Edkins 7 creep in at the back post to secure an equlaiser.

On 75 minutes a long range shot from UCC's Billy Wander just past the post with the keeper well beaten

With extra time beckoning on 80 minutes a free kick on the halfway line appeared to be drifting out of play but Butler was alert and cuts in from the left and flashes a shot across the keeper into the far side of the net 2 -1

Harold Wood respond and good work down the right sees a cross flicked on by Mitchell Prue flicked on and hit the outside of the post.

Despite the continued pressure Harold Wood were unable to produce an equaliser
