Promotion battle hots up in League One...
Premier Division
Whaley Bridge won their game against fellow title challengers, Linotype Cheadle Heath Nomads. Bridge took all three points with a 1-0 win that sees them stay top of the table, three points clear of Wythenshawe Town in second. Wythenshawe also picked up a win this weekend as they defeated Malpas 3-4 to put themselves on to 27 points.
Altrincham FC Reserves thrashed Garswood United 0-4 away from home to move up to fourth place in the table, sitting just one single point behind local rivals, Cheadle Heath Nomads.
Crewe defeated Styal 1-0 at the Cumberland Arena as they move up to sixth, just one point behind Altrincham Reserves.
League One
Warrington Town Reserves remain comfortably clear at the head of the league table this week following their 6-1 victory over FC St. Helens at home.
There are three teams on 23 points at the end of the week: Mersey Valley, Lostock Gralam and West Didsbury & Chorlton Reserves. The latter picked up an impressive 5-2 win at home to Tarporley Victoria, while Mersey Valley and Lostock Gralam played each other in an entertaining 4-2 win for the Manchester natives, who also have two games in hand.
Egerton defeated Golborne Sports in a thrilling affair that finished 4-3 as two of the league’s teams sat in mid table gave us one of the best games across all leagues this week.
Two other mid table sides, Pilkington and Middlewich Town, also played each other this week in a game that finished 2-1 to Pilkington.
League Two
Windle Labour moved up to joint top in League Two following their emphatic 4-0 victory over Sandbach United Reserves.
Broadheath Central are the other side level with Windle Labour as they dropped points in a 3-3 draw with NWCFL side Barnton’s Reserves.
Deva Christleson find themselves 3 points from the leaders following their dominating display away at Winstanely Warriors, a 1-7 win.
Orford FC and Unicorn Athletic finish the week in fourth and fifth respectively. Orford defeated Maine Road Reserves at home whilst Unicorn Athletic played out a 1-1 draw with Ford Motors.
