Entertaining Fixtures across the 3 Divisions.

With the number of scheduled games due to increase in the coming weeks there was just 8 games played on Sunday. Only a single game in Division 1. Division 2 saw 4 games played and Division 3 had two fixtures.
Kings Arms FC Haxey made it 2 wins from their opening 2 fixtures the latest a very hard earned 5 goals to 3 home win against a Rose & Crown team that certainly made Kings work very hard for the win. The game was very much an end to end affair and just the better finishing gave Kings Arms FC the 3 points.
In Division 2 it is new boys Kings Arms Clarborough BAFC who have started with 2 straight victories, a very tough home game against near neighbours AFC Moorgate resulted in a 4 goals to 2 win for the Kings Arms and they clearly have shown their intent to be a force in this Division, Moorgate can however take heart from their performance and will surely win more games than they lose. Friendship FC Reserves proved to be too strong for a Gringley Celtics team that never really got into the game in an attacking sense and Friendship Reserves showed why they were champions last season in Division 3 and look sure to be a force to be reckoned with this season the score of 5 goals to nil reflects their dominance. Westwoodside FC won their opening fixture by 3 goals to 1 at Blue Bell Rangers in another game that was always a close match just the sharper finishing proving to be decisive. Walkeringham travelled to play Retford Sunday and real end to end thriller it proved to be, both teams giving their all for the victory both probably warranted, it was Walkeringham who just prevailed by 3 goals to 2 in a game that was a good advert for the Division.
In Division 3 new team Elm Cottage have started like an house on fire two wins from their opening fixtures and also goals in abundance, they had far too much attacking power for Canutes FC winning by 11 goals to 1. Bridon AFC Reserves new to the League this year entertained Owston Ferry SC who have had to completely re-build their team this season. An entertaining game went the way of visitors Owston Ferry SC by 4 goals to 2, their first points of the season but again both teams can take positives from the game.
