Leaders Desford are now starting to kick away in Everards Brewery Premier Division. They got revenge for last week's County Cup exit after they beat the same opponents Leicester Atletico on the 3G at Beaumont Park, Conor McGahan scoring the only goal of the game in the first half in a 1-0 win. They are now five points clear of Anstey Town in second, with Anstey having played a game less. Third-placed Hathern blew the chance to go second after a 3-0 defeat at home to Highfield Rangers, Raijaun Morris-Laing (2) and Henry Dilley scoring for Rangers who were well worth the three points, as Hathern lost at home in a competitive fixture for the first time in over a year. With a significant gap now opening up, it looks as though this year's Premier Division will be a two-horse race between Desford and Anstey Town.
Aylestone Park Reserves moved back into the top four after putting Ellistown to the sword 7-3 at Terrace Road, Ethan Clarke leading the way with four goals, Leo Hicking, Billy Loomes and Marley Spencer also scoring. Hicking also scored at the other end with an OG, Jack Bonell and Ruben Wilson were Ellistown's other scorers, the game virtually over early on as Park went 3-0 up in the first 12 minutes.
The bottom of the table saw a shock result too, as Friar Lane & Epworth came from behind to win 3-1 at Cottesmore. The Rutland side led at half-time after Robbie Dance scored on 26 minutes when the Lane keeper spilled the ball, and Dance stabbed the ball home, Lane protesting about a possible foul in the build-up, but to no avail. Within 5 minutes of the restart though, Lane were 2-1 up, and added a third on 64 minutes to secure all three points, Gary Warren (2) and Solomon Agyeman the scorers. That takes Friar Lane three points clear of bottom side Burbage & Huncote, who lost 4-2 at home to AFC North Kilworth, Sam Blockley, Jake Smith, Johnson Oyegoke and Joe Williams the scorers for NK, B&H scorers not yet in. Also on the fringes of the relegation battle are Ellistown, one point ahead of Friar Lane, and Sileby Town, who are a point in front of Ellistown.
