Interim Actions & Progression

At last it seems we have some sort of pathway back to the promised land of grassroots football.

Providing the general public behaves better than they have (parties, processions, rallies, gigs, parties, illegal sports activities on our pitches, more parties, more marches, 400+ at weddings!) then maybe the effect on the "R" number will be at the level that we will be donning familiar colours from 10:30, April 4th.
It's certainly not lost on us that organised sport is a much safer event than going shopping and activities listed above. But here we are, an extended lockdown through a combination of factors and chomping at the bit to get going again.

During the lockdown the league has gained official accreditation due to its ongoing commitment to the Kick It Out campaign.

We have joined forces with SELK - Grassroots Podcast to promote the league & member clubs on a weekly basis.

Keep up to date with previews & reviews every week.

ONE EYE ON THE FUTURE

I just wanted to assure every team, our existing members or potential new teams, that we will support you once again, by easing the fees for 2021-22. We realise that times have been hard and many of you are owed money for pitches. The ESFC remain committed to helping where we can. Full details will be announced in due course.
If you fancy a chance at mixing it over at the Combination then Click here to register your interest for 2021-22

COMMENDABLE STANDARDS

One thing we can be rightly proud of is the standard of football in every division. Yes, we have standouts, but there has been a definite shifting of power at the summit with nearly every Senior team in with a shout of the title. It's actually a shame that County competitions will not be progressing as we are confident that they would continue to make big noises and almost certainly have a say in the destination of the trophies.

We took the early decision to follow the guidelines and recommendations from The FA & County (a rarity in our region ;-) ) and. opt for the smaller division setup. Now that has allowed us to revisit a& conclude the programme. We are so happy not to have wasted the efforts of the teams in the competitions so far.

Two wasted years would have been a catastrophe and we would not have blamed people from wondering if there was ever a future for grassroots and the compromised integrity of the fractured league fixture list.
