FA YOUTH CUP
Gresley and St Andrews are through to the next round while Anstey Nomads, Aylestone Park Youth and Holwell Sports exit the competition at the first hurdle. Andrew Canacoo and Oliver Creese scored for the Nomads but it wasn’t enough as they went out 3-2 at the hands of Matlock Town. Callum Steer was on target for Aylestone as they went out 2-1 to Retford. Gresley travelled to face fellow League side Holwell and went through in style winning 7-0. Ryan King (3), Harry Lansdowne (2), Albert Lansdowne and Josh Dutton for the Moatmen. The next round is scheduled to take place week commencing 22nd September when St Andrews join the competition in a home tie taking on Long Eaton United while Gresley travel to face Matlock Town.
NORTHERN DIVISION
Goals from Bradley French and James Pearce were enough to see Birstall United edge out Coalville Town 2-1, with Ayrton Moore replying for the Ravens. Quorn 2014 travelled to Leicester to take on GNG 2014 and returned home with the points after an emphatic 11-0 victory. Joseph Lee, Callum Hamilton and Danny Bryans all bagged hat tricks with Jordan Breward and Angus Gentleman making up the total.
SOUTHERN DIVISION
Shay Brennan, Alex Rhoades and Josh Sullivan were on target as Lutterworth Athletic defeated Thurmaston Magpies 3-0. St Andrews and Saffron Dynamo shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Alex Siwela and William Lambert for the Andrews with Chris Johnson and Brendan Pickering replying for Saffron.
