Summary of the action from Week 3 of NTU's Serie 6-a-side competition

Week 3 of the Serie 6-a-side competition was hit by weather and withdrawals but still saw four competitive games played on the day.

Two games were affected after Ale Madrid and 2 Goals 1 Cup were both forced to withdraw from their games due to a lack of available players. However, both these fixtures may be able to be played at a later date after their respective opponents, And The Winners Are... and Ay Bird FC, were rescheduled to play each other instead.

Before this game was played though 4pm saw two fixtures played in a torrential rainstorm. Barlow's Big Boys played with 5 players and Borussia Teeth took full advantage of this to run out 7-3 winners. Globo Gym Purple Cobras were also forced to play with only five players, but their 6-3 defeat to H What FC doesn't tell the whole story as Globo Gym spurned numerous chances and saw more saved or block by H What players.

4.40's remaining game was scheduled as Tekkerslovakia vs Le Saux Solid Crew. However, transport delays meant that Le Saux Solid Crew were unable to make their kick off time (or even the last five minutes of the match!), resulting in the game unfortunately having to be awarded to Tekkerslovakia as a 3-0 win.

At 5.20 the rescheduled game between Ay Bird and And The Winners Are... took place and proved to be a highly competitive affair throughout with the match ending in a 2-2 draw. The last game of the day was played between Schneefers and Is Your Motherwell. In a see-saw of a game where neither team was able to get more than one goal ahead at any point the final score ended as a 5-4 win for Is Your Motherwell.

Week 3's Team Of The Week Award goes to Is Your Motherwell by virtue of their 5-4 win over the previously undefeated Schneefers.

At the end of Week 3 H What and Tekkerslovakia are now the only two teams with 100% record in the league and also possess identical goals for and against stats as well!

This situation won't last past Week 4 though as the top two face each other at 4.00 pm this Friday. The early round of games also sees Le Saux Solid Crew back in action and looking to avoid transport problems as they play 2 Goals 1 Cup. At 4.40 And The Winners Are... play Barlow's Big Boys and Borussia Teeth play Globo Gym Purple Cobras, before Ay Bird FC meet Schneefers and Is Your Motherwell face Ale Madrid.
