Oakhall became the winners of the Plate Trophy at the Leagues' 2008 5-A-Side Competition by beating Emmanuel Lightning on penalties after the final had remained level, even after 5 minutes' extra time. Click for photo

Pictured here are the remnants of the original squad of Nathan Foley, Richard Fleming, Dan Lane, Tim Lane, Dan Usher and Dave Warwick, supplemented by goalkeeper Dan Bowden, borrowed, with approval, from Selsdon Baptists. I'm not sure who it is that had gone missing by the time of the final, but Dave is the one who had retired from action, to save his knees for the 11-A-Side season apparently!

The Plate Competition is for teams that are not so successful in the group stage of the competition. Despite winning one and drawing one of their four first phase matches, Oakhall finished bottom of their group of 5 teams but went on to record victories over Southborough Lane Baptists and Kings Church Orpington on their way to the Plate final.
