A 4-2 win for Abbey Road in a closely fought encounter

The first 15 minutes were tight, with either side having any substantial chances, except for a Xavs free kick on the edge of the box which was fired just over.
The first real chance for Abbey Road came in the 24th minute but the keeper smothered the ball well to deny a 3 on 2 break.
There was a massive chance for the hosts soon after, with a completely free one on one following a long free kick but the keeper produced an amazing save to deny a certain goal.
GOAL. Abbey Road took the lead in the 30th minute following a completely free head from a corner, the game has been very tight up until this point.
Xavs nearly responded straight away but the one on one is hit right at the keeper who was left with an easy save.
There was a huge chance for Xavs in the 36th minute, with a great cross almost being converted from close range but is hit just over, momentum and possession starting to be dictated by the visitors.
GOAL. 1-1, equaliser in the 38th minute with great composure showed, knocking the ball round the keeper before firing the ball into an empty net, a deserved equaliser.
There was an amazing save in the 45th minute by Abbey Road’s keeper tipping the ball over acrobatically from close range following a long throw in.
2-1 Xavs. Amazing goal as the ball came back from a cleared corner and was hit with a left footed inside the foot shot which found the top corner, keeper was stranded and had no chance. What a goal.
Half time- Xavs would have been frustrated with how easily they conceded, however would have been proud with their response and it could be argued they deserved their half time lead.
GOAL. 2-2. Abbey Road calmly converted a penalty to start the second half.
The second half had few clear-cut chances to begin, but the aggression and intensity was clear for all to see.
There was a huge chance for the hosts in the 65th minute as they broke the Xavs line with a lovely through ball, but the keeper got down low to make a save.
GOAL. 3-2 Abbey Road, the resultant corner isn’t properly cleared properly and is nodded home. They have looked dangerous from set pieces all game.
GOAL.4-2, yet again their dangerous set pieces proved pivotal as the ball is scrambled following a corner before being fired home from 6 yards out.
There was an amazing chance for Xavs late on as the ball was fired across the box, but they were denied by an amazing last man block.
Full time. 4-2. Xavs will feel hard done by as there was no clear advantage for either side in terms of the balance of the game, however, Abbey Road utilised set pieces tremendously and ultimately this proved vital for them securing this victory.
