Everard teams for week ending 26th October
We start this week off with a few matters arising in the County Cups. An oversight at Holmes Park had to be rectified, and a first-round tie hastily pencilled on between Oakham United of the Peterborough League Premier Division and LSL Premier side Burbage & Huncote. That tie was played on Tuesday night in Rutland, and saw B&H come out on top 3-1, with Cameron Atkinson (2) and Connor O'Grady the scorers after it had been 1-1 at half-time. Burbage book their berth in the next round, a trip to fellow LSL side FC Khalsa next Saturday.
Two County Cup ties in the second round of the Saturday Intermediate Cup were brought forward a week and played this Saturday. In the all-LSL tie at Holywell Park, Loughborough Students Development smashed Ingles Development 8-0, whilst at Kirby Muxloe, Kirby Muxloe Reserves walloped UCL Reserve Division side GNG Oadby Development 10-0. Scorers are not yet in for either of those games. A third tie was also settled this week- County League side Loughborough United have withdrawn from both the County League Premiership, taking the place of their reserves in County League 2, and have also withdrawn from the Saturday Intermediate Cup, with their opponents LSL Div1 side Sileby Town Reserves handed a walkover through to the last 16.
Meanwhile, Monday night saw the draws made for the next rounds of both the Everards Tiger League Cup and the City Goldsmiths President's Trophy, with the full list of ties available on Full-Time. The Tiger Cup last 16 will be played on Saturday 23 November. The President's Trophy is already at the quarter-final stage, so dates have not yet been fixed for those fixtures.
The vast bulk of County Cup second-round ties take place next weekend, and next Saturday will see no fewer than 16 ties involving LSL sides- we'll be back for a bumper special of Ramble Round the County Cups next weekend. See you then.
