A very entertaining evening at Bilsborrow ended with first season newcomers Ribbleton Rovers winning the Cup.

In a great advertisement for Summer League Football,The Billington Cup Final was won by Ribbleton Rovers, 5 - 3 vs Brockholes Arms Reserves.A great turn out by supporters of both teams witnessed a game which ebbed and flowed both ways ... Ribbleton took a 2-0 early lead, Brockholes brought it back to 2-2 by Half Time.Brockholes then took the lead 3-2,Ribbleton equalised for 3-3,then 2 goals by Ribbleton ensured the Cup was won by our 1st season participants, who have perfomed very well in their first season in Summer League Football.Brockholes battled hard to the end but were undone by defensive mistakes.A game well officiated by the three match officials, on an evening worthy of Summer League Football.
