Bibury Reserves 2 Real Fairford Reserves 0
Two first half goals from Bibury Reserves striker Steve Pitt brought the Mills-Roberts Cup back to Bibury for the first time in 12 years.Bibury Reserves Manager Terry Brunton said the win was sweet revenge for the defeat Real inflicted on his team in the Junior Charities Semi-Final earlier in the month. Speaking after the match Terry said "Having won the Cup as a player with Bibury in 1997 I was very proud to win it as a Manager. The boys have endured a gruelling schedule at the end of the season having to play ten matches in three weeks. We have already secured second place in the League so this is the icing on the cake"
The final was a tight affair withboth teams creating chances early on.
Thje deadlock was finally broken in the 25th minute when Andy Woolfoot put a through ball between two Real defenders for Pitt to dispatch a low shot in to the bottom corner.
Soon after a long clearance from Gaolkeeper George Bull found its way through the Real defence leving Pitt with an easy tap in.
Real improved in the second half creating chances for Nigel Baker and Taiwo Gomez whilst Jack Gannon was wielding an influence in mid field.Despite this Real were unable to make the most of their chances which they failed to put away.
However Bibury were able to soak up the pressure from Real and hung on to claim the Cup.
