U18 report for Saturday 1st April
It’s still very much a two-horse race at the top of the County Premier U18 League with in-form Finn Harps hot on the heels of Old Xaverians following a 5-2 win against Rosemont Athletic. A Tejan Brima hat-trick and a Jason McCormick double helped to secure the points for Finn Harps with Matty Harper & Will Goodison on target for the Athletic.
Johnny Foy and Jordan Davis have been prolific goal-scorers all season for Whiston Juniors and they were again on top form as they both helped themselves to a hat-trick in their team’s resounding 9-1 win against struggling BRNESC. Joel Smith with a double and Kieran Donovan rounded off the scoring for Whiston and Ryan Parker netted the BRNESC consolation.
It was a tight affair between Rosemont and fellow strugglers Childwall Valley but a goal from Tom Stewart was enough to earn Rosemont the points in a hard fought 1-0 victory.
Despite goals from Tom Summers and Joseph Waugh, Checkemlads couldn’t get the better of Real Vikings who earned themselves a welcome point in a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from George Martin and Shay McCarthy.
In mid-week, a goal from Tom Jeffers was enough to give Real Vikings the edge in a 1-0 win against Rosemont.
