Altrincham beat league leaders...
Premier Division
League leaders Whaley Bridge didn’t pick up any points this weekend as they lost 2-0 to Altrincham Reserves.
Although Bridge remain top, Altrincham move themselves ahead of Cheadle Heath into third. Nomads, however, were disappointing in their draw with Greenalls leaving them seven points off the top with three games in hand.
Crewe and Eagle Sports played out an entertaining 2-2 draw (see below) at the Cumberland Arena. Crewe’s goals came through Southern and substitute Dan Lavalette whilst Eagle Sports’ goals came via Ellis and substitute Hanson.
The final league match this weekend saw Styal lose 1-2 to Malpas, meaning that both sides remain just a point apart. Next week has every possibility of being a pivotal week in the race for the title.
League One
Warrington Town Reserves continue their fine vein of form as they thrashed Middlewich Town 0-3. The Witches were left embarrassed as Dylan Glass and substitute Rhys Bowers (X2) got the goals for the Yellows.
West Didsbury & Chorlton Reserves and Mersey Valley were both very impressing this week as they both came away with victories by four goals, 1-5 against AFC Macclesfield and 0-4 away at Halebank respectively.
Egerton won in dominating fashion as they beat Grappenhall Sports 1-5 to give the home side their eighth loss this season. St Helens also scored five as they defeated Tarporley Victoria 5-2 at Windleshaw Sports Ground.
The final game in League One this week was a close-fought affair, with Pilkington edging a 2-3 victory away at Golborne Sports. This result means that Pilkington leapfrog Golborne in the league table.
League Two
Windle Labour move to the top of the table after their 3-2 victory over Barnton Reserves. Broadheath Central, who were top at the end of last week, didn’t play in the league this week due to cup fixtures.
AFC Denton continued their winless run as they lost 1-3 at home to Sandbach Reserves, making that their tenth consecutive defeat this season. Ford Motors defeated Orford FC 0-4 moving the visitors upto seventh in the table.
Moore United beat Unicorn Athletic 3-2 to pick up their third win of the season, the result also gave Unicorn Athletic their third loss.
