Kirby Muxloe ease 4 points clear, with a game in hand.
The Beacon Bitter Cup
A Nick Matthews hat trick, which included 2 penalties, propelled Senior Cup Finalists Blaby and Whetstone Athletic to their 2nd final of the season with a 1-5 away win at St Andrews. They will meet Hinckley Downes, who were taken to extra time and penalties after being held to a 1-1 draw by Earl Shilton Albion from Div1.
League
Kirby Muxloe eased 4 points clear, with a game in hand, at the top of the Premier division after a brace from Mark Aston helped them to a 1-4 away win at Ibstock Utd, their 3rd win on the spin, whilst Barrow Town had to fight back from 0-2 down at home to Bardon Hill Sports after Steve Hart had hit a goal in each half.
Hinckley Downes just eased past Ellistown to put one hand on 3rd spot whilst hat tricks from Matt Shuter and Daz Taylor carried bottom 3 placed Ratby Sports to a surprise 7-3 victory over 4th placed Saffron Dynamo.
Holwell Sports were ruthless at bottom placed Thurnby Rangers to post their 3rd win on the spin. The Rangers were reduced to 10 men early in the 2nd half with the score at 0-0, but Scot Mooney led the line with a double for the Sports to run out 0-4 winners.
St Andrews ended a sequence of 4 defeats to claim a top 6 place with a 0-2 away win at Rothley Imps whilst Blaby and Whetstone Athletic seem to have suddenly realised that they need to move up the table and hit Aylestone Park 4-0 for their 3rd win on the spin.
A goal in each half from Danny Dunkley gave Thurmaston Town a much needed victory at Highfield Rangers who slip back in to the bottom 2.
