BLYTH SPARTAN'S CUP HERO

Followers of the Northern U19 Alliance League EAST DIVISION. will recognised the name of Ged Dalton as a member of the Mitch Cook coached Scarborough side of 2006/07 and 2007/08.
Moving to Carlisle United 2007/2008, released by Carlisle, Ged signed for Blyth Spartans for 1 year with a 1 year option.

"Ged Dalton, 19, entered FA Cup folklore in this Northumberland coastal town by smashing home fellow substitute Andrew Wright's cross to secure a money-spinning date with Blackburn at this tiny ground on Jan 5.
Dalton, a Scarborough-based sports science student who was released by Carlisle last summer, said: "It was unbelievable and I feel ecstatic. The ball came over and I thought I'd missed it but just managed to get a foot on it and the rest is history."
