This week in the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League it was the Quarter-Finals of the Nev Watson Nursing Cup Santon lost 4 – 0 to Scotter United Reserves with Brad Bull scoring twice and Connor Davies and Mark Akers scoring one goal each; Corye Beedle opened the scoring for College after 20 minutes, Brendan O’Callaghan added a second on 30 minutes, Corey Beedle scored his second and Colleges third after 35 minutes, Brendan O’Callaghan scored his second and Colleges fourth after 45 minutes, Corey Beedle completed his hat trick after 70 minutes to make it five, Paul Reilly scored Colleges sixth after 80 minutes to complete the scoring as Division One College Wanderers won 6 – 2 against Division Two AFC Crosby who’s scorer was Aaron Lidgett with a brace; in Division One Chistopher Rodgers scored after 43 minutes to give Briggensians a 1 – 0 lead at half time against The Butchers Arms Euan Ellis scored after 67 minutes to equalize for The Butchers Arms to make it 1 – 1, which was the final score; a Alex Mullin goal for Messingham United wasn’t enough as they lost 2 – 1 to Beckwood Rovers for whom Kyle Leatham and Ryan Maw scored; a Thomas Dunderdale goal after 15 minutes gave Scotter United a 1 – 0 lead against Ashby Park Rangers which they held onto until half time, substitute Danial Goble scored after 77 minutes to make it 2 – 0 which looked like closing the game out however Ashby exerted a lot of pressure on the Scotter defense which results in a shot rebounding off Scotter player Gareth Bailey over the keeper Matthew Lawson after 87 minutes to make it 2 – 1, despite further pressure Scotter held out for the win; in Division Two hat tricks from Brandon Sharpe and Tommy Lawson along with a JJ O’Callaghan double and single goals from Rhys Worrall, Alfie Kilbee and Jamie Brumby saw Manor Park CF win 11 – 1 against Chancel whose scorer was Alfie Skelton; Sebastian Parker scored for New Holland Villa as they drew 1 – 1 with Barnetby United for whom Liam Davies scored after 4 minutes.
